    This is irrelevant now, but the thing that I never understood is, after hearing ad nausem, that UW “HAS THREE NFL WRs and the GREATEST QB IN THE GAME!” Over and over and over. And yet, paradoxically, that UW had a record breaking season of single digit winning games. Why were the games all so razor thin close if the UW O was so NFL and so unstoppable? Michigan revealed the answer to that Q. Convincingly.

    Hawks have been my team for 40yrs, I come from the UK on a regular basis to see the team play home games , road games Wembley, Munich been to them all. Geno is not a leader in my opinion, a leader shines in adversity and drags his team with him, thats not Geno.. Pete spoke a load of garbage in his last few seasons and that was some of it...I think once Howell gets a chance he will take it and that will be that for Smith.Winning something like the "comeback player of the year" ? its soft and cuddly just like your grandmas slippers.....

    I think you guys nailed the reason Michigan has been dominating. They ignore national recruit rankings. They look for big, strong, who work well as a team, and fast kids to recruit. Then they meet the Michigan strength and conditioning coach who turns these kids into monsters. To put things in perspective? Blake Corum, Michigan's slightly undersized running back? Tied an offensive lineman for the best bench press honors at the Nfl combine. People wonder how he scored so many touchdowns. Imagine a small guy who can easily fit through holes in a defensive line with the strength to push back all but the top defensive linemen going to the NFL. People who watch them all year, analysts mainly, have been calling them a boa constrictor because they choke the life out of your team. They get you tired. Wear you down and even if you have the lead at the end. Like Alabama did. They were tired. Then all it takes is last hard push

    Did you guys never think of Geno as a hot-head??? My biggest impression of him was that he was a hot-head. Since he filled in for Russ, whenever something doesn't go right on field he seemed to lose his cool and get angry. I'm glad that he's looking cooler-headed in the last season, but I definitely still perceive Geno as a bit of a hot-head. To give credit where it is earned and due. John Shneider and Pete Carroll have been very good at drafting or acquiring runningbacks. The most obvious and first big move in the backfield is Beast Mode Marshawn Lynch. John and Pete moved heaven and earth to get Marshawn. Pete knew he was the perfect bruising back for his style of football. John was on the phone at least once if not more every week with the Buffalo Bill's for 3 months. 2012 through 2015 were a true team big picture there was no weak link. Every position group had a Pro Bowler but receiver. I can't remember Doug Baldwin receiving the silly season honor. As Seahawk fans we know how good he was. I am going to leave out names of soon to be Hall of Famers. Yes Russell Wilson was a big difference maker. It was Beast mode who set the temperature the mood and physicality for the team. The only Whiff was Christian Michael, who struggled for 3 years before he was gone. As P and J have a want to do, they bring back former players for the last chance saloon. The one year he came back Christian averaged 4.6 yards a carry and scored 8 times. Our backfield of the present is set to break out in Grubbs new system. Charbonett and Walker compliment each other perfectly. I will give one more quick example that was derailed due to injury. Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny had even more potential than our present twosome. Pete and John's feel for backs was guided by their former playing days. John was a hard working big try small back who understood everything about runninback. Pete was an undersized safety who had to come up and make the tackle on guys who were bigger with more talent. Like John, Pete had to know what a back was going to do or could do. Without that he would have never played in the Bay area for Pacific University. I think that's the name. There is nothing like being humbled to learn something well. I played rugby around the world for 22 years 15 as an adult. My position fullback was closest to safety and your the last person on defense. The on coming rusher will often have 15 yards either side of you. Humbled with a capital H enough times. It's to early to know how Macdonald and Grubb were humbled. 99% chance they were. A sign you can't miss is how inventive and smart both of them are. I don't know when maybe 2026 our Hawks will be in the biggest of games again.

  • @chrissnape9537
    @chrissnape9537 4 дня назад

    Well spoken, smart, and tough. K9 is a game breaker, with his 4.33 speed combined with the shake and bake. Zach is a body breaker. The way he sets up DBs to run them over is special. He can do that to a linebacker as well. If the LB is a little late trying to fill the hole or off balance, Zach will truck him. There are some big backs that are hard to bring down, but I don't think there is a back as good as Mr Charbonett at finishing the run with Authority! 😊

    The Seahawks only made the 2022-23 playoffs because the NFCw was decimated by key injuries, and if Nathaniel Hackett had let Russ go ahead and throw the TD he was about to throw vs. the Seahawks, they would’ve been out just on that loss alone. And they still needed the Lions’ and Packers’ help to get into the playoffs and got dismissed like the pretenders they were by a 49ers team that Russ beat in the worst season of his career. Bottom line: the Seahawks were a 3-14 squad with a 9-8 record. They didn’t beat a single team with a .500+ record that entire season. I also hate to point out the obvious, but Pete Carroll is now out of a job, and it’s primarily because Russ could do things Geno couldn’t.
